In performance management, Competency encompasses the specific skills, knowledge, and behaviors necessary for effectively executing a role, including both technical and interpersonal abilities. Core values are the fundamental principles that shape an organization’s culture and guide its actions, ensuring alignment with its vision and mission while fostering a unified and cohesive work environment. Together, competencies and core values establish a framework that promotes both individual and organizational success.
Accessing Competency & Core
- To access this section, click the App icon in the navigation bar and select Performance.
- In the Performance module, you will find the Competency & Core tab.
- Within the Competency & Core, you will find six sections:
- My Competency
- My Core
- Competency
- Core Values
- Tag Competency
- Assign Competency Tag
Creating a New Competency
- Click the Add Competency button in the Competency tab.
- Enter the Competency Name and select the Competency Type from the dropdown menu.
- Provide a Description for the competency.
- Click Add Competency to complete the creation of the competency.
- You can View or Delete the competency by clicking the More icon next to each entry.
Creating a New Competency Tag
- To create a new competency tag, click the Add Competency Tag button in the Tag Competency tab.
- Enter the Tag Name and Description, then select the Department and Competency from the dropdown options.
- If you wish to add Weightage, check the checkbox.
- The selected competency will be displayed in a table. If you selected the checkbox for weightage, enter the weightage for the selected competencies.
Note: The total weightage must equal 100%.
- After filling in the details, click Create Competency Tag to complete the creation of the competency tag.
- You can access actions such as View, Edit, Delete, and view Assigned Competencies by clicking the More icon.
Assigning Competency Tags to Employees
- Navigate to the Assign Competency Tag tab to assign competency tags to employees.
- You can filter the employees by selecting a department from the dropdown options.
- The details displayed will include Employee Name, Primary Competency Tag, Secondary Competency Tag, and Action.
- To assign a competency tag, click the Edit icon next to the Secondary Competency Tag.
- Assign two competency tags along with their respective weightage for the selected employee.
- Click the Assign Competency Tag button to complete the process of assigning the competency tags.
- After completing the assignment, employees can view their Assigned competencies in the My Competency tab in their portal.
Creating Core Values
- To create new core values, click on Add Core Values in the Core Values tab.
- Enter the Core Name and Description.
- Click Add Core Values to successfully create the core values.
- You can View or Delete the core values by clicking the More icon next to each entry.
- Employees can view their Core Values in the My Core tab in their portal.
Note: If the created core values are used in the performance appraisal process, those core values cannot be deleted.
